Enjoy life with Blue Joy

ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Albert, your sailing trainer in the beautiful waters of southern Turkey and the Greek islands, including the Dodecanese and Cyclades. Before diving into the details of my training programs, I'd like to share a bit about myself.
For 15 years, I ran my own computer company, followed by a career in international marketing for a corporate identity implementation firm. Early in my professional life, I stumbled upon a life-changing barter: a sailboat in exchange for a computer. Believe it or not, back in the early '80s, you could pull off trades like that! Although I had spent my childhood on the sea, rowing boats and fishing, I had never thought about owning a sailboat—until 1982, when a neighbouring office, which sold sailboats, made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
I began my sailing journey with a fully manual, 6-meter boat. Ten years later, I moved up to an 8-meter sailboat. My next adventure was with a 41-foot Oceanis 411, which I sailed for 12 years. Now, I’m enjoying my latest boat, a 45-foot Oceanis 45. In 2020, after retiring, I decided to turn my lifelong passion into a business—combining the best of both worlds. It’s truly the dream!
Now, onto the sailing programs I offer:
1. **Basic Sailing Techniques**: This program is designed for beginners and intermediate sailors. It includes a lot of theoretical knowledge combined with practical sailing sessions. You’ll learn the fundamentals, from sail handling to basic navigation.
2. **Advanced Skills for Bareboat Sailing**: This is for those who already have a basic understanding of sailing and have spent at least a couple of weeks on the sea. The goal is to help you refine your skills so you can confidently sail a bareboat.
Sailing is more than just getting from point A to point B with a sail—it’s an art. By the end of these sessions, you should be able to take your boat out of the marina, sail to various destinations, moor under different conditions, and navigate based on weather and sea conditions. In short, you’ll be the captain of your boat.
Throughout your training, I’ll also share countless practical tips—small but important details that can make life on the sea easier and more enjoyable. These tips can help you get more out of your sailing experience and handle challenging situations with confidence.
And, of course, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore beautiful bays, enjoy delicious local cuisine, visit historical sites, and even go hiking. These are your bonuses!
Get ready for an incredible adventure—sailing, learning, and having fun!
